Private Press Vinyl Part 1 - Midwest
No original BM in your CD collection then. CD renaissance will be here before you know it, but half of my CDs have $50 + median right now, because as much as I resisted buying them so many integral albums in the 90s had no vinyl release and so I had to buy a stack of great albums first run on that format. Some of my cassettes are going for crazy money on Discogs. It's a weird time for hard copy but if it's good material don't get rid of anything no matter what format. The demand shifts with the tides of hipsters and flippers. Hell, a RE of Weakling - Dead as Dreams on CD is $100 median. When it first came out it was easy to find fist run second hand for $10... It's madness. But, here we are.
thx for posting these. I havent even heard of alot of these bands . its all Generational. my collection is from 1965 and up pretty much.. alot of great music not even on C.D. unfortunately and probably never will be. Ill give you 3 that I think you can get that were really valuable records.. Todd Rundgren - Runt .. Zephyr with Tommy Bolin - First album. Santanic Majestys Request with the 3D album cover by the Rolling stones. oh.. Its a Beautiful day -1 st album. all were very rare and collectable in their day . I remember Runt selling for 45 dollars in 1975 regular albums were 3 dollars.
If I ever paired my collection down to 20 or so, Moon and Antarctica would make the cut.
Thanks for the recommendations bro.
caroline rose yay i love that record
Tilly and the Wall are from Omaha -- underrated band!
A few of these bands you showed I've been interested in getting, starting with The Dandy Warhols, although I haven't listened to a lot of their material. I have one release by TV On The Radio, haven't listened to it in quite a while, I'll have to give it a spin. That Atlas Sound record is one that I recently added to my want list. The cover is what got me, because I remember that image from my childhood. It was in a book about the ancient world and I think that image was associated with the part about Hippocrates.
Excited to catch this new video! Thanks for all the great recommendations as always!
Shocker … your friend is a degenerate lol
Not really sure what you mean by this
“Covid” celebrity death. Lol
Yes, it was confirmed that Adam Schlesinger died of an early strain Covid 19.
Phish sux
That’s what I thought for a long time without giving them a chance. Considering their hundreds of songs and various influences, there could probably be a few songs you may like.
@@broke.on.records I don’t listen to Low T Dad Rock … sorry
I mean, yeah they have plenty of soft moments but also a lot of exciting ones too. I’m not saying it’s for everybody but like I said they really have a variety of sounds.
Everytime I hit the notify me button I never get notified that your video is up Logan. In fact. I cannot understand why anyone wants to use this option anyways. I usually post my videos when I am ready to do so. Maybe it is because I delete it from my cue right after I hit the notify me tab? Am I supposed to keep the video there until I am notified? Anyways. Always good to see you~ Rob/Boston
Hey Rob, I unfortunately have no idea on this one. Not sure if it has anything to do with me using the “premiere” function on videos. But most of the time I have a video up every Monday at 12pm central.
That TV on the Radio is a fantastic album and it brought me back to this one evening a few years back when my daughter, who is autistic, wanted to listen to music in her room on her little stereo. So she went to my cd shelves and picked this album, and practically went nuts, dancing to the whole album. Love Dear Science too. Have to check a few of those albums that I never heard before. Thanks again for another wonderful video.
Also, I’m with you on Burst Apart. I much prefer the songs on that one to Hospice. I’m also a big fan of the Undersea EP (one of my first ever vinyl purchases) and the album Familiars.
15:26 😂😂😂
I forgot I sent you that ST record. Glad you’re gonna dig on some Aretha. I’ve been listening to Lady Soul and I Never Loved A Man a bunch this month
My whole collection of victory CDs are the most rare
That PiL album was the last thing they did good. Still need the vinyl version but too expensive.
Peace man... cool and always informative responses. I'm put on to at least a couple new pieces every time. I remember when you first posted on the "Dogg Food" score... unfortunate that you had to let it go. Stay solid.
Wow, love what you read off from the DVD! The Rough Guide series is generally solid and worth picking up anything in the series. Jerry Jeff Walker definitely a working man's country artist, he's on the level with Hank Williams Sr and Jr. But alas, I also don't own any of his records, I just remember listening to the songs on the juke box at this bar I used to hang out in when I lived in Tucson from about 1978 to 1983.
Love digging with Jeremy. He’s very selective and always ends up picking something cool. Hope I can dig with you both again some time soon!
Unreal to me you don’t have way more subs than that. Definitely should!
Congratulations on the milestone, you deserve a lot more. I am not familiar with that Living Stereo, very cool you found it. 2 Great Tanya Tucker albums! I feel bad that Hot Water Music was happening around me and I was just not in the scene to know. Since I am exploring punk this year I need to seek some out.
HWM is on the road this year backing up a new album / anniversary, if they haven’t played around there yet I’m sure they will soon.
Always liked that Dolby album. Good to hear that you went to see Phish. Did anyone back them up? Big Star. I am sure that you remember the early VC days when Big Star would be in constant rotation. Good album. Great musicians. Good to see you again Logan~ Rob/Boston
Oh yes, Big Star have come back around lately though. No openers for Phish, just them for two sets plus encore.
Was hoping Off! would play Charlotte on the final tour but no dice. I have everything they have released. Dig all of it.
My 14 year old son loves your channel -lol- He Even seeks out some of the shirts he sees You wearing. He Listens to the same music you talk about- He always streams whatever you show. No offense to you but I have to watch first to make sure he’ll be ok with the language. It’s your channel. Of course you can say whatever you want. Anyways more power to you. Best channel in the VC.
Hah, yes I can be a bit of a sailor at times. Thanks for the support. Does he collect records?
@@broke.on.records Oh yeah. He collects records and rock Tshirts. Even if they’re not his size. He says he can wear them when he grows up. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
@@DriftyTrick shoot me an email - SWELLHEADSNETWORK at gmail dot com. I wanna get a care package together.
Congratulations on breaking the 1k mark Logan. So well deserved~ Rob/Boston
Hi - What was intro about-- Anyhows Always love you and your videos -- Best Channel in the VC
I think it’s pretty self explanatory.
This was supposed to be my Monday video, but I screwed up! Enjoy it a few days early. BOR.
Just from the first minute and a half of this video... I've been wanting to cover an album that I absolutely loved but was afraid of getting a bunch of blowback... Screw it I think I'm gonna have to do it. OTEP-KULT 45 awesome record on par with RATM
@@weirdspins6315 Otep has some great stuff
THANK YOU
Hi 👋 Greetings from New Zealand. I own a large collection of cds. I have ones where im not likely to come across another copy. Especially by New Zealand musicians. Cds have been around for a long time now. I check out thrift and charity stores searching for them. Some cds that i have bought are from people that are deceased, and the cds have been given to the store. So they are quite old. I saw Public Image Ltd in concert here in NZ in the 1980s. They were fun and played very loud. I like cds that have special outtakes , remixes and live tracks on them. I look after my cds with a cleaning solution called Isopropyl Alcohol. I wipe it on with a soft cloth. Works good. I own a huge collection of Jazz cds too. Interesting video . From Carl.
Thanks for tuning in!!
??? Who ?? Trump or Biden. I dont get it?
I’m talking about Trump, I had filmed this video and scheduled the upload mere hours before the Biden announcement and had a feeling the message might become unclear (also, I’m aware I’m late to the conversation). Try not to put too much of that in my videos but I needed to make my stance clear. It’s funny though, the video is 2 minutes of that and 28 minutes of music talk and no one has anything to say about that other 28 minutes 😂
@@broke.on.recordsI agree
I’ll just hold my tongue and unsubscribe
@@ronniee364 good riddance!
Have to disagree with you on a lot of that my friend, but thank for the response on the vinyl portion. Hope the festival is awesome \m/
I stay away from CDs... put my money into vinyl !!!
Good for you! Who fucking cares!
Those Girl Talk records are great. Nightripper is my favorite but those two are excellent too.
Some of them are worth less than the original price.
the fred neil album is incredible, hope you like(d) it! subscribed <3
BSS is something that is getting more and more rare out there!
Some great finds! Thanks for sharing and good luck with the Chan!
I bought the original Funkadelic Hardcore jollies album second hand in excellent condition last year for 20 euros. It’s really not that rare, but it’s a great album for sure!
Jimmy Smith
Keys? 3 way tie. Keith Emerson, Jordan Rudess and although the output wasn't nearly as high... based on Il Balletto Di Bronzo's YS - Gianni Leone is a MANIAC. Nice to see someone else nuts over some period in the Relapse catalog.
I rarely see Bob Seeger System records. I agree with you on surface noise: a little bit is OK with me. Very cool reissues. Wow, I haven't thought about Girl talk in years. Those look amazing 👍
My favorite keyboardist is me
I certainly would not know about squonky free jazz saxophone. Nope.
I almost picked up a cheap copy of Desire last week but the record looked a little warped to me and I still don’t have the patience to try to fix em.
The Joe Jackson Night and Day CD sounds incredible
I love that Crawdaddy by Darling Buds record. "Tiny Machine" is one of my favorite songs ever.
